Not your typical accountant…

Meet Your Accountant

I didn’t take the traditional route into accounting—but once I found it, I knew it was where I belonged. My career began as an Accounts Payable Clerk for a boat dealership, after my early attempts to pursue a non-accounting career path didn’t quite pan out. At the time, I’ll admit I wasn’t eager to follow in my father’s footsteps (he was a CPA, now retired). But life had other plans.

What I discovered surprised me—I loved the work. The systems and organization required to keep the AP desk running smoothly, ensuring bills were paid promptly and costs accurately tied to each boat repair or sale, sparked something in me. I took ownership of the process, streamlining it and even transforming the AP function into a fully paperless system. Yes—it can be done!

What happened next?

After streamlining and modernizing the accounts payable process in my first role, I was eager to broaden my experience and explore other areas of accounting. While I make the AP role sound straightforward now, it was far from simple in the beginning—every industry has its own challenges, and I learned quickly that attention to detail is critical to avoiding costly mistakes.

A few years later, I joined a public accounting firm, where my skills truly expanded. I worked with clients across diverse industries, including restaurants, and saw firsthand how each business’s financials need to be structured to reflect their unique operations. I thrived in the fast-paced environment, moving between client accounts and tailoring solutions to meet each one’s needs. It was in this dynamic setting that I discovered my passion for helping business owners—especially in the restaurant world—create order from complexity and use their numbers to drive success.

My passion, just not the right firm…

Not all accounting firms operate the same way.

While I enjoyed the work I was doing, I realized the environment wasn’t the right fit. I transitioned from a traditional public accounting firm—where tax filings and IRS notices were part of daily life—to a firm that focused exclusively on bookkeeping. No tax returns, no compliance headaches—just accurate, well-maintained books. It was exactly what I needed… for a time.

Eventually, I felt the pull to take my skills and experience directly to clients on my own terms. Over the years, I had developed a unique blend of expertise and industry insight, enabling me to deliver high-quality, personalized service.

So, I took the leap and launched my own practice. While I may not be a large team, I bring the same level of dedication, precision, and passion for numbers to every client I serve.
